Project Description
Point Walter is a very popular picnic area and can get quite busy, however there is plenty of parking in the area along with park land, playgrounds, a café, public toilets, BBQs, beaches, ski area and boat ramps.
Point Walter is probably best known for its long sand bar which is a very popular spot for fishers to chase flathead in the summer months.
The jetty is also a very popular fishing destination and can at times be very productive.
Species likely to be encountered here include, black bream, flathead, flounder, tailor, herring, pilchard, mulloway, silver Bream, yellowfin whiting, crabs, river prawns and king prawns.
