Spin and fly fishers working the bottom areas of the gulf have been enticing golden trevally, queenfish and longtail tuna. Permit have been encountered along the shallow areas of the gulf while the lagoon waters of the west coast are producing some nice size bonefish. There are still a few blue marlin being encountered out wide while smaller black marlin continue to be caught in closer together with sailfish. Spanish mackerel are being caught along the reef line off the west coast in 18 to 30m of water.
