Barramundi enthusiasts have reported good catches of fish to a metre in the Fitzroy River at areas that included Langis Crossing and Telegraph Pool. More barra, although on average smaller fish, have been coming from Willie and Dampier Creeks. Threadfin salmon appear to be occupying Crab Creek and the adjacent coastal areas.

The boats that worked the ground within Roebuck Bay during the past week managed to catch some nice bluebone and fingermark bream. Queenfish and assortments of trevally have also been common in the bay. Shore-based fishers have been doing well on yellowfin whiting to 30cm and the odd bigger fish along Cable Beach.
