Yellowfin tuna around the 15kg mark and big schools of longtail tuna are being encountered off the west coast with the latter species also present in the gulf. Several giant trevally were landed behind the reef and near the Muiron Islands during the past fortnight.

There are heaps of spangled emperor being caught inside the lagoon and the odd fish being taken from the shore along the west side. Bundegi has been good for queenfish and trevally around the change of tide. Some nice hauls of blue manna crabs are being had in the Gulf and along the town beaches. Small black marlin and sailfish are being caught along the back of the reef in depths starting at 50m.
