Broome Catches

Broome22012016

Good catches of barramundi have been coming from the middle and lower reaches of the Fitzroy River. Areas that have been consistently producing 65 to 85cm barra have included The Cuttings, Telegraph Pool and Pelican Pool. A few threadfin salmon to a metre and the odd bigger fish are being found in the lower reaches of the river.

Cherabin can be sought from the system following a decent rain. Bluenose salmon, the odd threadfin and a few barra have been caught on live baits and lures at Dampier and Crab Creek. The inshore areas of Roebuck Bay are fishing well for bluebone. More bluebone have been coming from the jetty together with the usual varieties of trevally and queenfish.
