Applecross Jetty

Applecross Jetty can be found in the suburb of Applecross. It is easily accessible and has a good amount of parking which is found at the end of Ardross St or in parking areas off The Strand. Not far from the jetty are some very nice open parks, a playground, BBQ facilities and public toilets.

Species likely to be encountered here include black bream, flathead, tailor, yellowfin whiting, pilchard, mulloway, silver bream, crabs, river prawns, and yellowtail grunter.

Bicton Baths can be found on the south western end of Blackwall Reach Parade, this jetty has ample parking, with adjacent park, playground and BBQ facilities. It also has public toilets.

The jetty itself is quite big and is great for kids to swim and explore in the confines of the jetty.

Species likely to be encountered here include, black bream, flathead, flounder, tailor, herring, pilchard, mulloway, silver Bream, yellowfin whiting, squid, crabs, river prawns and king prawns.

Claremont Jetty

Claremont Jetty can be found at the end of Jetty Rd in Claremont which runs off Victoria Ave. While the parking is pretty limited there are public toilets at the base of the jetty. First constructed in 1898 this jetty was very popular in its day as it still is today. There is beach access at the front of the riverside homes with a very small amount of lawn but little else apart from the large jetty.

Species likely to be encountered here include black bream, flathead, flounder, tailor, herring, pilchard, mulloway, silver Bream, yellowfin whiting, squid, crabs and river prawns. In certain years this is also a popular spot to chase giant herring.

Como Jetty

Como Jetty is the biggest jetty on the Swan and Canning Rivers. It is often observed from the freeway sitting half way between Canning Bridge and the Narrows Bridge. Access to Como jetty is from the freeway pedestrian overpass originating at the end of Preston St in Como. Parking is available along Melville Parade close to the base of the overpass.

There are public toilets at the base of the jetty, there is also a small playground and small paddling beaches.

Species likely to be encountered here include black bream, flathead, tailor, pilchard, mulloway, yellowfin whiting, crabs and river prawns.

Coode St Jetty is situated next to the small boat ramp at the end of Coode St in South Perth. There is a restaurant at the base of the jetty and the public toilets are on the boat ramp side of this building. In the vicinity there are plenty of open parklands, beaches, picnic tables, BBQs and children’s playgrounds. There is also plenty of parking to the west of the restaurant or on the left as you drive in. Please be aware that the main car park (on the right) is for cars with boat trailers so please keep these bays clear and only park in car parking bays.

This is also a very nice spot to relax at night and take in the lights of the city.

Species likely to be caught here include black bream, yellowtail grunter and crabs. If fishing at night you may encounter cobbler here, so please return them to the water as quickly as possible as they are protected in the Swan and Canning Rivers.

Deepwater Point Jetty

Deepwater point is a popular park for family picnics. It has ample parking off The Esplanade in Mount Pleasant and is also a very popular ski area and boat ramp. The area has public toilets, a café, playground and BBQ facilities. Parking is either in the main parking area or on the street verge along The Esplanade.

The jetty has recently been refurbished and is now in great condition. It is quite narrow but is quite long and can accommodate a number of considerate anglers.

Species likely to be encountered here include black bream, flathead, pilchard, mulloway, yellowtail grunter, crabs, and river prawns.

Fremantle Sea Scout Jetty

This Jetty should probably not be included in this list as it is on private property. This being the case it is imperative that if the Sea Scouts are using the facilities, please move on to another location.

This jetty is quite small and is only suitable for a few people to fish off at any time. Access is off the western end of Jerrat Dve in Bicton. There is limited parking in a small parking bay just before the sea scouts driveway. Show some courtesy and do not park in the Scout driveway.

Access is via a rickety stairway off the scout driveway.

Species likely to be encountered here include, black bream, flathead, flounder, tailor, herring, pilchard, mulloway, silver bream, yellowfin whiting, squid, crabs, river prawns and king prawns.

Freshwater Bay Jetty or the Old Tea Rooms jetty is accessible off The Esplanade in Peppermint Grove. Parking is on the verge and there is access along the foreshore or down the stairs at the end of Leake St. There are public toilets towards the rowing shed however they seem to be only open on weekends. The area has a grassed foreshore and further along there is a beach.
